The 33rd edition of Whe're They At features Track and Field great and impactful social activist, Dr. John Carlos. Dr. Carlos was the first person in history to win the 100, 200, and 4x100 races in both the NCAA and NAIA Finals (for East Texas State and San Jose State, aka Speed City). He co-founded the Olympic Project for Human Rights with with Dr. Harry Edwards and Dr. Tommie Smith. He won the Bronze Medal in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City but most importantly, it was him along with Gold Medalist Dr. Smith demonstrating a silent but powerful protest by raising their fist in the air on the medal stand to denounce racism and oppression in the United States and around the world, the most resonating image in the HISTORY of sports.
