The 25th edition of Whe're They At features Atlanta Hawks head coach and community activist, Lloyd Pierce. Lloyd starred at Santa Clara University as a guard alongside Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash. After playing professionally overseas, he paid his dues in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in player development and assistant coaching for over a decade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers. He finally received the opportunity to become a head coach, with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018. In Atlanta, Coach Pierce is developing one of the most promising young teams in the NBA. He's become a powerful presence as an activist against systemic racism and police brutality. He also spearheaded the start of a committee by the National Basketball Coaches Association (NBCA) on Racial Injustice and Reform. The 24th edition of Whe're They At features former National Basketball Association (NBA) All-Star forward and Union President, Antonio Davis. Antonio starred at the University of Texas-El Paso under the tutelage of groundbreaking Hall of Fame coach, Don Haskins. He went on to play 3 years in Europe and then 13 years in the NBA. He was an All-Star in 2001 and proceeded to become President of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA). After retiring, he became a well-respected analyst for ESPN. Now, he is back in his hometown of Oakland, California contributing heavily into the community as a member of the organization, Coaching Corps (www.coachingcorps.org). The 23rd edition of Whe're They At features one of the greatest players in tennis history, television analyst and humanitarian, Chris Evert. She was a trailblazer in helping to create the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) with Billie Jean King. In her illustrious career, she won 18 Grand Slam tournament singles titles, 157 WTA singles tournaments, 32 doubles tournaments and had a career singles winning percentage of 90% (the highest win% in tennis history). She competed in the most Grand Slam Finals of any player in tennis history (34). She also served as president of the WTA and continues to be heavily involved in the sport as a prolific analyst for ESPN and chair of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Foundation Board of Directors. She also runs the Evert Tennis Academy (in Boca Raton, Florida) and does impeccable charity through her Chris Evert Charities (www.chrisevert.org/charities/) organization. The 21st edition of Whe're They At features 7-time National Hockey League All-Star, 5-time Stanley Cup champion, Hockey Hall of Fame and member of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players of All-Time, Grant Fuhr. Grant is one of 13 Goaltenders in NHL history to win over 400 career games. He won five Stanley Cups with the dynastic Edmonton Oilers of the mid-late 1980's. He won the Vezina Trophy, recognizing the NHL's best goalie in 1987-88. Most importantly, he was a pioneer by becoming the first Black player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame (2003). He co-wrote an autobiography called, Grant Fuhr: Portrait of a Champion and was featured in a documentary about his life called Making Coco: The Grant Fuhr Story. He was named to the NHL's 100 Greatest Players of All-Time list in 2017. Grant has been humanitarian with his involvement in countless charities. The 20th edition (Part 2 of 2) of Whe're They At features trainer of nearly 20 boxing world champions, ESPN boxing analyst, Boxing Hall of Famer & humanatarian, Teddy Atlas. Teddy was an apprentice of the legendary trainer Cus D'Amato. Throughout his career, he trained world champions like Mike Tyson (as an amateur), Wilfred Benitez, Michael Moorer, Simon Brown, Tim Bradley and recently Oleksandr Gvodnyk, to name a few. He is a boxing analyst for ESPN and made ESPN's Friday Night Fights must watch television as well as color commentating 4 Olympic Boxing tournaments for NBC. He currently hosts an insightful podcast called The Fight with Teddy Atlas. Teddy released his autobiography, Atlas: From the Streets to the Ring: A Son's Struggle to Become a Man in 2006, as the audiobook is now available as well. He founded the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation (www.dratlasfoundation.com), which provides financial and emotional support to individuals and organizations in need, and focusing particularly on the needs of children. The 19th edition of Whe're They At features 5-time All-Pro, Pro Football Hall of Fame Center and member of the NFL 100 All-Time Team, Dwight Stephenson. He was a major part of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team's consecutive National Championships in the late-70's. He was drafted in the 2nd round by the Miami Dolphins in 1980. In just eight seasons in the NFL, he was a 5-time All-Pro/Pro Bowler, 1985 NFL Man of the Year and was universally known as the Best Center in football. Dwight was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998. In 2019, he was named a member of the NFL 100 All-Time, recognizing the top 100 players in the 100-year history of National Football League. During retirement, he created a successful construction company (D. Stephenson Construction) as well as an impactful foundation, bearing his name (www.dwightstephenson.org). The 17th edition (Part 2 of 2) of Whe're They At features Hip-Hop legend, founding member of Public Enemy and activist, Chuck D. Chuck had an iconic career lasting over three decades as a lyricist, leader of the one of the most influential groups in American music, Public Enemy and entrepreneur. His powerful lyrics and artistic foresight helped Public Enemy spearhead the rise of Def Jam Records in the late-1980's while releasing four of the greatest albums in hip-hop history from 1987-91 (Yo! Bum Rush The Show, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Fear of a Black Planet and Apocalypse 91....the Enemy Strikes Back). While still performing with PE and on his own, he has spearheaded ventures in radio and multimedia. Recently, he's been touring with The Prophets of Rage (with B-Real from Cypress Hill and members from Rage Against The Machine) and has released a new album in April 2020 with Enemy Radio called 'Loud is Not Enough'.
